It feels quite surreal that we’re invited to Milan Fashion Week this year. Okay, we’ll attend just one show but for me it feels like a milestone! Unfortunately I’m not able to share this awesome experience with Marc because he has to prepare his exams – but this won’t mean that I’ll go through this by my own! My dearest Ann-Kristin will join me and I’m sure this will be the best girls trip ever for us two and we know each other since a bunch of years – #goals! <3
It’s just one week left until we’ll fly to this awesome city that I’ve visited way too short during last year (this time with Marc) on our way to Cannes. To be honest, I have no idea what to wear and the weather forecast doesn’t really help me with this. As I can’t handle my excitement and I’m jumping around like a deeply crazy little girl who ate all her candies way too fast, I needed to do something that will calm be down. In younger (more analog) days I browsed through some old fashion magazines, seek inspiration and relaxed. In more digital days I’m doing my personal fashion yoga: style collages.
I don’t know of this will classify me as a blogger, or as a madly fashion addicted woman with an abnormal relation to clothes and style. But as long as it works for me, I’ll practice it! It also helps me a lot for arranging the millions of wild thoughts in my head and getting back to what I am and my style is about. Honestly, it’s mostly super confusing for me to check out street style shots with all these awesomely dressed women and reflecting my outfit plans. But after going through the process of a style collage, I’m down to earth and satisfied with my ideas.
This year I discovered denim. Well, I don’t know if I really discovered it – obviously not as I have some old denim pieces in my closet but I wear them super rarely. At least I found a perfect fitting mom jeans that won’t make my 168 cm body look unproportional and my bum strangely flat. It’s really hard for smaller (not model sized) girls like me to find a perfectly fitting and not too pricy pair of jeans, but they’re out there and one day you’ll find them! Check these out:
Even though I’m feeling addicted to more minimalistic and relaxed styles since a couple of weeks, I would always add to a simple dress-jeans combination (with which I’m totally in love lately) some statement pieces like an outstanding coat or fashionable big sunglasses… or both? I’m not a fan of costuming for fashion weeks like other bloggers and fashion people do but fashion weeks give you the right platform for completing your style with a tiny bit of extravagancy which won’t hurt anybody!
Slowly but definitely after talking about all this exiting stuff, I’m ready to pack my bags with a lot of Livia-pieces and basics like my new denim baby. I really hope I can capture the magical feeling that will surely wrap one of the most important fashion capitals in the world in a cocoon of style. Be prepared for it and make sure to follow me on Snapchat @livia_auer! 🙂
